COG -
Organic in the sense that cog play their instruments, some people would say cog's music resembles some sort of progressive rock that flows effortlessly from thick slabs of distorted guitars, twisting rhythms through to vast playgrounds of ambient organospace and back again. Not shy to incorporate sequencing and sampling to propagate more ideas in a live and recording environment, cog feels this has opened the possibilities for more musical exploration. Their live shows are powerfully captivating and entertaining with a cutthroat sense of reality!Presale $20 / Door $22

Eskimo Joe -
Youthful naivety can produce flashes of rock & roll excitement, but genuine experience and the passage of time can turn a good band into a truly great one. Now, eight years on from when the young Fremantle trio leapt onto the national stage, Eskimo Joe are taking a big, bold step towards Australian music greatness with their third album, Black Fingernails, Red Wine."I always think of things in a concept-record kind of way. So I wanted to make a record as if we were a stadium rock band," explains songwriter and bassist Kav Temperley. "If we were like INXS, what kind of record would I want to write?"
Black Fingernails, Red Wine is a brazen step forward for a band borne of a scene that doesn't always encourage grand statements. But Temperley, Stu MacLeod and Joel Quartermain have never been ones to ascribe to the status quo. Now more than ever at home in their own skin, the trio raise the bar set by 2004's double-platinum, ARIA Award-winning A Song is a City with a new album that soars with unashamed, unguarded personality. Oh, not to mention equally great pop songs.

Monroe’s album MAT Black, released in March, is a collaboration of sexy lyrics and sultry sounds, with tracks such as ‘Shame Shame Shame’ by T.Jam and ‘Rolling Stone’ by Myna. Monroe manages to bring elegance and sassy Latin style straight from the club onto your stereo. MODULAR RECORDS Snow Spectacular feat. VAN SHE + Tony Pepperoni(Avalanches) + Bang Gang DJs + Modualr DJs + Van She DJs + much more top notch snow loving mountain goats..
9pm ‘til the chair lifts open$15 advance / more on the door
Modular Records present a mashup of indie art rock pop electro with a fashionista feast of DJ's from the coolest crop in the country.
VAN SHE
Formed in the early part of 05, Van She are a new band from Sydney fresh on ideas, fresher than Flavor Flav, fresh like coriander, fresher than the Fresh Prince.

Van She formed when Nick Routledge [vocals, guitar], Matt Van Schie [bass], Michael Di Francesco [synths] and Tomek Archer [drums] all responded to an ad in Sydney’s Drum Media and arrived at an audition for a vocalist for a doom metal band with influences including Sepultura, Entombed, Black Skull and Phil Collins to find the whole thing was a sham. You could call it the result of Satan at work, or you could call it fate.
Since the chance meeting Van She have been playing out and about around Sydney, headlining their own shows and supporting the likes of The Presets and Wolf & Cub.
They’ve also been in the studio, the fruits of which we now see in the shape of a 6 track, self titled EP. Opener Mission acts as a gloomy but punchy entry point into the Van She world, while Kelly is like the epic, lovelorn cousin to The Presets’ Girl And The Sea. Sex City throbs and blips like a restless adolescent, and Survive is the greatest post post punk tune to make use of slap bass. Kelly Reprise blisses out for just a few seconds before Here With You brings us to a beautifully textured, melancholic close.
So Van She are here now and they’d like to dance with you.
Or your girlfriend, if you’re game to let them. If and when they ask you to tango, say yes.
You won’t regret it.
